Fear not, food can be your friend! As someone who used to overly stress about food choices, I love supporting clients in forming a healthier relationship to their food and body. Life is stressful enough, and food should not be contributing to that!

As a Monash certified FODMAP dietitian, it's my passion to help individuals with gastroenterology issues improve their symptoms on the least restrictive diet possible. Food anxiety and restriction doesn't have to be your forever, and it likely isn't helping your gut either!

And while IBS, IBD, and gut health are "my jam", I also enjoy supporting women who struggle with fertility. From PCOS to Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, I am your gal.  I'm a huge nutrition science nerd! Let me help you untangle the fads from the facts.

Special Interests:

Gastroenterology, fertility nutrition, spending time with my new baby girl, aerial silks, and backpacking

Education:

Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Nutrition, California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo CA

Dietetic Internship, Iowa State University with rotations fulfilled on Kauai and Oahu

Certifications:

Monash University Certified FODMAP Dietitian

Trained Fertility Dietitian with the Early Life Nutrition Alliance

Registered Dietitian by Commission on Dietetic Registration

Licensed Dietitian by State of Hawai'i Office of Health Care Assurance

I love food and I love to eat!

Being both a CDCES and a person actually living with diabetes gives me a unique perspective. I've tried everything there is to try and can share my successes (and more entertainingly my mistakes!) to help guide you on your path to wellness.

My patients often thank me for making complicated information easy to digest. I truly enjoy teaching and take great pride in helping things finally make sense.

I'm also a bit obsessed with nutrigenomics. Gaining insight on how our genes may be influencing our nutritional health is fascinating and helps us develop truly personalized nutrition care plans. From diabetes devices to nutrigenomic testing, let me make data and the latest and greatest in technology work FOR YOU!

Special Interests:

Diabetes technology, nutrigenomics, food allergies, DIY projects, and all things dog related

Education:

Graduated with High Distinction Honors with a BS in Applied Health Science, Indiana University, Bloomington IN

Dietetic Internship with natural medicine focus, Bastyr University, Kenmore WA

Certifications:

Certified Pump Trainer for Insulet (Omnipod) & Medtronic insulin pumps

Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) by National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators

I’m a passionate foodie!

My love for cooking and baking (and eating!) started at a young age.  The connection between food and health began to spark my interest and I knew I wanted to study nutrition.

I worked for UCSF Health for seven years before relocating to Kauai.  I reside in Kalaheo with my partner and our new baby boy.  When not working as a dietitian I enjoy traveling with my ohana and trying new foods.  You can find me shopping at the local farmers’ markets several days a week.

I am very excited to be a part of the Hawai’i Nutrition Hui.  I look forward to working with you to help achieve your health goals while learning to love and appreciate food!

Special Interests:

Dietetics: Oncology, weight management, heart health, geriatrics, maternal & child nutrition

Personal: Travel, farm to table dining, baking, Zumba, yoga, pickleball

Aloha! I’m a clinician at heart but also passionate about helping people in many ways, including making food your friend as well as your source of health. I believe that all foods fit and use a non-diet approach in helping you reach your health and nutrition goals.

I have an extensive background working with pediatrics to kupuna populations.  I have taken part in writing literature for Sweet Success in CA, (a gestational diabetes program), have had my own consulting business for long term care and as a NICU dietitian, and have enjoyed heading cardiac nutrition rehabilitation classes in the past.

My patients tell me they appreciate my sense of humor and helping them make choices in their lifestyle that are realistic for their goals.

Special Interests:
Gestational diabetes, pediatrics, oncology, cardiovascular health, renal, nutrition support and kupuna. populations. I believe in keeping an open mind to complimentary health approaches while doing no harm.

I love dancing, hiking, traveling, gardening, orchids, spending time with family and friends, and am fascinated with true crime podcasts.

Education:
Graduated from Loma Linda University with a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics, Loma Linda CA

Dietetic Internship with extensive experience in vegetarian nutrition, Loma Linda CA

Certifications:

Registered Dietitian by Commission on Dietetic Registration
